Right i have a question about FN3

Now lasst night i was around a mates place and he has a ps2 with fight night 2, so in it goes and we decide to mix it up a bit ie im middleweight Roy Jones and hes Barerra flyweight i think.
Anyways one thing that stood out was how fast paced the action was ie punches and blocks were coming thick and fast which i enjoyed tbh.

Now earlier tonight i decided to play the computer with the same sort of boxers i was playing with last night and i dont know if its me or what but the action was somewhat slower, in fact quite a bit slower. Didnt seem fast paced as the ps2 that i was playing on last night.

So could it be that FN2 is a bit faster than say FN3, i take it FN3 is available on the ps2 as well...would it be just the same as the 360 ie a bit slower.

Also again noticed that on FN2 they had Marciano on it whereas i just checked FN3 and cant see him on the heavyweight class.

Anyways like i said i dont know if its me or if the game is meant to be slower paced than say FN2 and trust me i was punching as fast as i can lol, my fingers are killing me. Which reminds me of another thing i noticed, on FN2 Roy jones has a move where he drops both his hands then swings a massive haymaker....cool move that but on FN3 cant seem to get that move going for him..

So any opinions, ideas or hints??. Am absolutely loving the game and finally my bro in Canada picked up a 360 at the weekend for himself so im gonna get my xbox live account up and running. Hell even my mum plays with me:p:D:D and she aint too bad a fighter....when i get on xbox live then someone can take her on ;) lol

Fight Night Round 3 is slower than previous versions, but after playing it for a while I feel it's a bit more realistic that way. You can still throw a good flurry of punches, they're just a touch slower.

Hmmm yeh i have noticed that as well, seems abit more realistic in that when the fighters get tired, they do get tired very quickly compared to FN2. Also one other thing, i have the HUD enabled on my 360 and i again noticed that on FN2 for the haymaker you have a bar that goes red when you have max power but on the 360 u dont have that.

But yes Davey i can see that even throwing a flurry of punches its not as fast as FN2.

I haven't noticed in difference in terms of people getting tired more quickly. I was knocking the AI out inside 5 rounds max on FNR2, and I'm doing exactly the same on FNR3 as well.

I agree it is slower, Imho FN1 is a better game than FN3. Sure fight night 3 is fun online but as a game FN1 has it knocked out in the 1st round ;)

You cannot win in fn1 with constant haymakers, the jabb is actually of use in fn1. In fn3 you throw a jabb to throw someone off and they can easily hook or haymaker you into tommorow.

FN3 is no way as good a boxing representation as FN1.

But its still fun.

Hmmm thats the problem im having, i get the punches in and they hit hard...where you get that kinda echoey sound..guess thats the point where the fighter can go down but for some odd reason i cant get a decent punch in to finish him off lol:p.

So im winning my matches on points rather than KO's or TKO's, actually on FN2 last night i won 3 fights via a TKO and i havent yet won a fight on the 360 via TKO, think since i had the game ive only knocked one guy out:p...yes im crap and i know that but i aint playing to show off...im playing for a laugh :D

Hmmm i can see where your coming from but i havent played FN1 yet, only played FN2 on the ps2 and FN3 on the 360 so far and i find FN2 to be a little bit more enjoyable ie faster pace.
I can see my mates getting bored of the slow pace of FN3 on the 360 though lol:p

FN1 does everything better spawn, training, career and ring awareness. Most boxing matches you can use the jab and move technique just like in real boxing. In FN3 its useless.

The training in fn3 is a chore, so you end up hitting auto train all the time.

The bonus items you buy dont seem to do anything in FN3, there is no visual increase to your stats to see so its another useless element.

Most of the fights ive had online have just turned into toe to toe wars once you realise the tap and move to get your opponent off balance isnt doing much to his stats. Then its haymaker wars. Dodge duck block haymaker and repeat.

Its fun but a real lazy game. Vastly over rated and I doubt many people will be playing it in 2 months when some decent quality comes along.

just my 2 cents

As much as FN3 wowed me with its gfx on the 360 i have to say i soon tired of it, the sp is pretty poor and am really not interested in playing online.

Thats right. They slowed it down to a more realistic level on purpose.

I've not played Round 3, but I've got Round 2, and I agree, it's far too easy to just throw haymaker after haymaker in R2, and jabbing is insanely and unrealistically fast.

Wait til you get 3 then, ive won a match in career with 15 haymakers in the first round. All 15 connected. As I was throwing them I thought he's gonna block soon, he's gotta block soon. Oh well it's over.

Yup thats what i found with the ps2 version of FN2, too easy to get in there and just unleash a flurry of punches then some haymakers...before long the fella is on the floor lol :p
