Is FNR3 likely to be region unlocked so we can import it and play it on our british consoles?

There's over a month lag between the US and UK release dates

No one can answer this question, the game isn't out yet.

But no EA game so far has been region free. So chances of this being region free is slim to none.

DOA4 wasnt?
Indeed, which is why I said it's very rare. How many other games, out of the hundreds/thousands that are released each year on all consoles, can you say are region free?

Edit: I'm hoping though that it DOA4 is region free, then Ninja Gaiden 2 will also be region free when it appears. Don't want those nasty yanks getting a lead over me again. :D

I thought the Xbox360 may change that, as there's no PAL/NTSC rubbish anymore that's all.

The DS is region Free ;)

Have the release dates been confirmed though? I didn't think there was a 1 month gap between them.

As does almost every game maker, it's very rare a game isn't region encoded.

Amped 3
Call of Duty 2
Condemned
Dead or Alive 4
Gun
Quake 4
Ridge Racer 6 (US VERSION)
Tony Hawks : American Wasteland

are all region free for the 360.

Microsoft haven’t enforced region lock out. It ‘s up to the discretion of the publisher

Again, out of the hundreds/thousands of games released each year, there are a few exceptions, hence why I said it's rare. I didn't say it never happens.

I think you'll find the 360 has broken that trend, I wasn't asking about other console formats.

I have heard around 40 percent of 360 games are not region locked. The others obviously are.

For all other consoles (apart from handhelds and so on) I thought they were all region locked, well certainly all PS2 and gamecube games and so on *looks confused*

Give that we've not had that many games out yet, it's far too early to say whether it's broken the trend or not. As mentioned, it's purely down to the games maker whether they encode it or not. I hope they don't, but time will tell.
