Hi,

recently got fight night 3 on the (original ) xbox.

I've got pretty far i guess, 10-15 fights but just can't beat this one guy now. Doing featherweight and slowly building up, my stats are about 50%.

What happens if i loose one match do i keep moving on ?

Just find it difficult landing decent punches and running out of energy after the first round or so.

Sounds like your wading in and throwing punches but missing a lot?

Just keep your guard up, wait for them to throw and hopefully if you can dodge or parry the shot let them have it.

Conserving energy is a major factor the further you get into the game, as I am now finding out.

as mentioned its all about waiting for the right moment and not wasting punches. im about 35-1-1 at the moment but it really is getting pretty tricky now.

I wouldnt mind, every time i think im getting pretty good I go online and get whooped  really need some more pratice. (any likewise average players please add me to your list for a bit of pratice, my login is Kid Loco 46 )

on a side note, has anyone noticed that when playing online everyone only wants to play on the left hand side of the screen. every time I connect and im on that side the user disconnects, i goto the other and its game on.

It depends ont he fight you have choosen which style you should fight.

Good example is Ali / Fraiser (think i spelt right lol)

Ali is very quick and can dance around most apponenets and can quickly get in close throw 1 or 2 punchs and get back out with out taking a hit, use this to wear your oppenent down then go in guns blazing to finish them off but if he is hit enough by a heavy hitter like fraiser then he wont be on his feet long.

Fraiser is a Heavy Hitter / can take loads of punishment but damn slow so you need to keep your guard up and block incoming punchs and let loose when you got your oppenenet in a situations where he can't move around you to well like in a corner.

I had some great matchs last night against my brother where i beat him everyfight but i had to use each fighters characteristics to win and some of the fights i started to loose but by using the jab and hooks to keep him at a distance to give my fighter a rest and up on points i was tiring his fighter down and in a few fights i manage to get the refferee to stop the fight due to my brothers fighters face falling off :D

I've played the games on PS1 PS2 and now own the 360 verson and i can honestly say its just damn awsome, the single player is abit boring but when you fight against a friend etc.. it just comes to life

Agreed, i had probs as well with my stamina levels going down too quick but that was due to me throwing too many haymakers and missing lol:p

The way i fight now is i go into punch, land one then back off....repeat over and over till you get a knock out or a TKO because you have busted his face open and the ref stops the fight. Fighting this way means im now much more successful in beating most opponents. Although the Toney and Jones JR match up is a hard one, one hell of a mismatch if you ask me. Jones has the quickness but Toney has the power....usually takes me up to round 7 to despatch his fat ass to the canvas lol :p

Barrerra is very good at that as well as Ali, very quick and as i found out has an awesome reach...had some nice long jabs as i was weaving back and forth.....landed some good uppercuts.

Two techniques that I used to KO every one of my opponents in single player were:

1. Consistently haymaker to the opponents body and dodge any incoming shots, after a few rounds start head hunting and they should go down fairly quickly.

2. (Easier) stand against the ropes and keep your guard up. Parry any shot that comes your way and throw a haymaker. Just stay against the ropes and parry everything and eventually the fight will get stopped assuming you use the same haymaker everytime since the ref stops the fight due to the opponent not landing anything on you and taking a beating in return
