Fighting Frost

When I first saw thread title my first thought was "Kill it with Fire" :D

More seriously. Get a Good quality screen de-icer/screen-wash.

Use it neat in the wash bottle and put some in a pump sprayer to use on the side windows.

Avoid methanol based ones (they dont work and are also toxic) also avoid PEG based ones (They are toxic too.) On frosty days thirsty animals will be attracted to puddles of tempting looking liquids! :(

A good one will melt the frost before your very eyes.

Problem is, it won't melt the frost before the wipers start to sweep, surely? Which might damage the rubber.

last year i had my disco 2 and we hardly had a frost :( this year i have nothing with a heated screen and its a daily thing doh.

On the Navara, i just press the high idle button which is quite usefull tbh, sticks the revs at around 1500.

If you are worried about the wiper sticking (which is entirely legitimate) use the pump spray on the windscreen before starting up.

The one that for me is always the biggest inconvenience is the breath freezing on the inside of the windscreen when you think everything is fine but then drive off and find it isn't!

Driving for the first half mile or so with the windows open usually gets round this one however!

(Are you a Man? :D)

I use Water on windscreen, if it cold enough for that to freeze within 10 seconds i put the wipers on immediately after.

Then just pour it over the other windows
