File details not displaying

OK so a little bit of an odd one, have an old pc sitting running in the corner of the dining room that I'm using as a shared file system. Main reason is I tend to access files from my main PC and my wifes laptop so easier to have them stored elsewhere. Also use it to stream music/video to other devices in the house (PS3/Phones etc.)

This was all running great until the other day when I went to start playing some music on my phone. For some reason none of the file details are showing on the phone (Artist/Album etc.) thought it may have just been my phone with the issue so also checked on PC and laptop in WMP all music dumped into Unknown Artist/Album. Checked the file properties themselves and again the details tab is blank. Connected up to the storage PC and all file details are there.

How is the phone connected to the shared PC and does the music still play even though no details show up?

Music still plays no problem, phone connected via WiFi and using VLC for playback on my phone. Don't think the phone is the issue though as just tried on my old S6 and still same problem and it's also affecting the Windows 10 PC and laptop. Music playing no problem at all, just doesn't have any of the file information on it. Not sure if its any help but the shared PC is running XP as that's what's on it currently and all internet traffic is blocked from travelling to that PC via the router. Usually get album info etc via my main PC.

Sounds like some kind of reindexing is needed but such a specialised problem...

Look for an option in both the shared PCs folder setting to reindex or rescan the contents and also on vlc on the phone, if that doesn't work then setup the shared folder again on shared PC.
