File is corrupt?

Lately, nearly everytime I try and run a downloaded file, an error message comes up saying "file is corrupt". I re-formatted, but during the install of windows, it kept coming up with error messages, and took me several attempts to install it. Even after all that, it still gives the "file is corrupt" messages.

What could be causing this? I ran memtest and it came up with loads of errors (ballistix pc4000), so could the ram create this kind of problem?

thanks

If your memory is overclocked try increasing the voltage too it and then run memtest+ again. If you cannot get the memory stable by increasing voltage then reduce the overclock untill you get it stable. If however your running the memory at stock: Speeds, timings and voltage then I'm affraid it's RMA time :(

Yep, memory has been put in different slots, tried different timings, voltage etc. Even at default it comes up with loads of errors, both sticks.

Looks like and RMA is in order.

Answered your own question. Dodgy RAM.

Would this deffo cause the random errors and "file is corrupt" messages? I just don't want to replace the ram if it turns out to be a dying hard drive.

100%

Everything on your computer goes through the RAM so having 100% stable memory is PARAMOUNT.
