File management with upload/download script?

I am looking for a nice graphical UI that is very easy on the eye and simple to use that will allow users to upload and download files to my server. It needs to have the ability to select multiple files for download and upload from their system.

Reason being is to share files for a work project and some users have very little technical knowledge, ruling out FTP which I would have used. So any suggestions welcome.

Could always just connect to the FTP via 'add network location' (right click white space inside my computer to find it in the menu) which appears under My Computer and lets you drag/drop.

Dunno about downloading. Would just use PHP readdir for that. Regarding uploading. Try uploadify.

isn't file uploading/downloading part of HTML5? Would be quite easy to knock up a web front end to do it!
