File Recovery Help Needed

Hello and thanks for looking. I just by accident overwrote my mozbackup file for my thunderbird inbox. I recently formated and don't have a restore points or any other backups.

Is there a way of recovering a file that you accidentally saved over? The file is PCV File. I am half asleep and rushed to restore it and instead wrote over it

Any help on recovering it would be very welcome.

By the way I tried recuva, but I think that finds deleted files, rather than files that have been saved over, so it found nothing.

You could have a look at Get Data Back in this situation. You can get a free trial but im not sure what limitations it has.

Thanks philtorrens. I installed and searched for it. No luck. Seems the issue is as I wrote over it, it would be very hard to get back. At least with normal recovery programs.

Never know I will wait, maybe someone knows a way of recovering it yet.

What version of Windows do you run? I know you said you don't use backup but Shadow Volume might have a copy of it...
