Hey,

Would the Primo built PC's on Overclockers suit a file server. Just looking around at options for my Home Server build and I see a few options.
Will be a file server running WHS. Have not looked into running it as a Media server, but don't want to rule it out and those Primo's look like they will take a basic graphics card should it be needed.

1. Pre-built cube such as the Aspire Easystore H340

2. Build my own from scratch.

3. "Primo Drone" AMD Athlon II X2 Dual Core 245 2.90GHz DDR2 System

I suppose my main concerns are noise and number of hard drives. I already have large drive, but looking to add another 2 by the end of it's life.

For a file server you want low power - it will be on 24/7, and each watt costs you around £1 per year.

I would look at a decent dedicated NAS system. Personally settled on Synology. Has many other functions, can act as media server, web server. Can run many php packages (I have it running SABNZB for usenet downloads). It also handles nightly backups to a separate USB drive, and is probably cheaper than a full PC.
