File server

Hi guys,
i am putting together a simple file server for some friends. They are going to be online so it will need virus protection but avast home edition doesnt do.

Is there any free server antivirus software out there?

can you think of any other software that may be useful.

They produce dvds and other media for local school boards and businesses. They are editing large media files all the time and these will be located on the server.

I have updated all their pc's and the server to gigabit ethernet.
