File sharing help?

Have I got everything right here. Trying to set up for file sharing and printer sharing though my desktop with my Acer notebook that has have a wireless connection. I have a Netgear DG834GT Super Wireless ADSL Modem Router for desktop (connected by wire) and I am able to connect via this, the notebook and a PSP to the internet. But can't get PC's to detect or talk to each other.
Am I missing something?

you'll need to create a workgroup for both pc's to be in. once you've done that they should be able to see each other.
