Hi there
I jsut got a dg834g, set it up on my Pc and internet works fine. Laptop picks up the connection fine also, but doesnt pick up the shared files folder that i set up on my Pc. But the Pc picks up the shared files folder that i set up on the laptop. Gives me this error " you might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact administrator " blabla. Any ideas? Not sure why i need access permission from laptop to pc but not the other way around.

Any help appreciated
Thanks

Must be someone who knows how to resolve the:

" You might not have permisson to use this resource. Contact administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. " " logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer "

Ripping my hair out over this.

Hi again

Pretty much got everything shared apart from program files, windows, documents & settings on my Master drive. When viewing say Program Files properties and clicking the Sharing tab, everything is blanked out with a message at the bottom telling me " All the options on this tab are disabled because this folder is used by the operating system ". Is this normal ? I've been in safe mode and set up permissions to allow everyone access, still to no avail.

I have two drives on my PC, Master and Slave. From my Laptop, i can access/modify all of the Slave, i can access/modify the shareddocs folder. I can also access the Master i just cant access Program Files, Windows e.t.c once im IN the Master. Despite the fact that i set up file sharing the same way on each drive:

Drive > Properties > Sharing Tab > Check Boxes " Share this folder on the network " and " Allow network users to change my files "

I also went into safe mode to check permissions on each drive, installed NWLink Netbios protocol in the LAN properties and carried out various other " fixes " like setting "restrictanonymous " to 0 in the registry.

One thing i dont understand is why i have a Network Bridge in Network Connections, dont remember seeingt that the last time i set up networking. Doubt that would be the cause though.
