I have established a wireless link between my PS3 and my Windows Vista
Machine, but the picture file folders all show empty when I try to open them
from the PS3.. Does anyone have any suggestions on how
to solve this problem. I have researched the PS3 Tech site but nothing has
worked.

got files to show but the files all over the place trying to set it just to view the E and D drive but it aint showing everythink thats on the drive

Have you checked they are actually in the WMP11 library first? What types of file aren't showing?

If you still have problems delete all your current shares, and then just re-share a single folder with content in it to see if that works.

* Load up WMP11
* Click the little tab Below the Library Tab
-> Media Sharing
-> Ensure "Share my Media Checkbox is ticked
-> Wait Until Windows Finds your PS3 (Called Unknown Device - With MAC address listed)
-> Highlight this Device.
-> Allow sharing

Now anything in your media library will be streamed accross to the PS3.

*NB it depends on how you have set your network up, but the above should work, just search for media servers on your PS3 and it should show up.

*You will need to install a DivX codec on Vista for Media Player to add it to the library.

*You can also use copy any item WMP11 library direct to the PS3 hard drive.

*Be careful on how you navigate the folders on the PS3. You will not be able to see Videos if you start off navigating through the Pictures Folder, even though you may end up on a Videos folder!!

I don't use the WMP library, I've just made a folder called "Shared" which can be seen by my PS3 and Laptop downstairs, I just drag them into the one folder if I want to share the stuff, simple.

All I did as I remember was make the folder open to sharing by going in the properties of the folder.

Cool, you learn something every day!

just to hijack for a second, i've also set up my wireless connection today but just once or twice when streaming high def content i've stuttered or lost connection. I'm on wireless G at the moment, would upgrading to an (inexpensive) wireless N combo be likely to see an improvement? or even just a 125 (currently on 54) G+ combo?
