File transfer software that goes around errors

I remember a really powerful and useful piece of (free) software that essentially let you transfer files even with errors in there that would stop the entire process. I've got a scratched disc of Oblivion that refuses to install, but I remember being able to do it months ago without any glitches whatsoever thanks to this particular piece of software. The name completely eludes me now though. It basically brute forces the copying of files even if they're riddled with errors - something like that anyway. I'm trying to transfer all the files off the disc onto the HDD and installing from there.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about, I would really appreciate the input. :)

That's exactly it! Thanks, you're a legend! :)

edit: even that can't do it :( it's stumped on the last 10% of this particular file, just like Windows was.

What file is it, I'm sure someone on here in the games section would help you out.

Hold up the disc to a light, if you can see holes in it, you've got no chance (besides the hole in the middle :p )
