Fileplanet : who subscribes?

There's not enough stuff I want to download from there, so I don't think it's worth it.

I susbscribe. have done for a few years now. I think the pricing of it is pretty clever. Its a very small amount that is hardly missed on the plastic so its propbably more trouble than its worth to cancel. I do use the service from time to time as I always find the speed of the servers good.

Prefer it to Gamershell & Worthdownloading

Yeah, I occasionally have a fit of downloading old gaming files and saves time to just go to FP rather than hunt around for something. Speeds are acceptable, tho not great, but it's enough that I'll pay for it.

Nah no way i'd subscribe to it. Not when Blueyonder/Multiplay FTP servers and Gamershell manage to max out my connection for free.

Oh, and the betas they get are just utter crap.

Subscribed for the Vanguard beta a few months back, that and the etqw beta have justified the small cost.

I subscribed last month but the download speeds are poor, usually under 400kb/s or so for me. The beta releases are good though and may justify the cost if you like that sort of thing.

I subscribe. It's really not much money and I get full download speeds as long as the uk server is available. Also been in a whole bunch of betas. TDU, GRAW2, some pointless stalker patch beta that never even worked and some more :)

Just wondering how many have decided to subscribe lately to FP, and who don't see the point?

I don't see the point of subscribing, demos that are supposedly exclusive are on other servers within hours, and game betas are open to the community before fileplanet even gets a look in.

Never seen the point in subscribing to any site like this. Downloads are available many places for free and usually faster and beta are 1) not worth paying for and 2) are *NEVER* exclusive so there is no point anyway!

I used too for some of the beta giveaways and how easy it was to get a key from them, but cancelled it a few months back as it's not worth the bother.

same as most things on the net, theres plenty of sites that will offer you downloads for a price but keep searching and .................. found a free one!!!! just laziness i think most of the time. ANYTHING, its outthere and its FREE :D

It's decent if you want to get in betas earlier than everyone else, though it's usually only a week or two advantage. The fast downloads I can get elsewhere.

Never subscribed (as in paid for) to anything online-related with the exception of my ISPs.

Newly released content I can find with fast, reliable download links elsewhere within a matter of hours, and older stuff usually with a bit of hunting. I also avoid any kind of download sites where you have to register/login, gimme direct FTP/HTTP access any day.

Not really got any interest in betas anymore, I only play proper official demos or full versions.
