after getting a HTPC, ive decided i will build myself a fileserver to store all the media i have (quite a few TB's).

just looking for suggestions on improving/making cheaper my current basket.

would like to keep as many SATA ports as possible and would prefer 6

ive looked at cost per GB and that drive gives the best 'bang for my buck'.

i have had a look for a board with onboard graphics but none meet my specs (6x SATA II) unless i have overlooked something.

i did look Atom based stuff but found the same problems as Venares, theres not enough ports for what i want.

the current specs shouldnt use up too much power and i dont really care if its intel or amd since performance isnt a key factor with this build.

noise isnt a problem either, since the server will be located in the spare room where the only thing it will annoy is other junk in there. will be putting it inside my old 900 case so drive bays wont be a problem and is the main reason i want 6 SATA ports which also gives more flexibility when putting in new drives.

and if you are wondering about the IDE drive, its IDE as i dont want to waste a SATA port :D
