Hello. Our driveway has acouple of steps leading from the pavement. I'm think of filling them in to give me a couple of extra feet to allow parking for 2 cars. Can anyone recommend a DIY friendly way to do it. Thanks

A bunch of old blocks and some ply board? :P

Seems a shame to concrete it as you have a nice driveway as is. I can't imagine finishing off the brick would be too expensive for a decent single man business. Though i have no experience in asking a driveway business for such a job.

I can only see the one picture btw, not sure if there were 2?

Doesn't look like it in the quote so hopefully not.

I'd do as above though if you want it to look nice.

Otherwise knock out what you've got and you could easily cement+sand+stone a slope in there.

Definitely ask about and see if you know anyone who can do the brick work, otherwise doesnt look like it will be too difficult to do.

Am I right in thinking the gate has to open inwards and not into the path?
If so, unless you plan to get rid of the gate your going to get an extra foot or so
If you are getting rid of the gate, then plyboard to make a frame and fill with concrete, want to break up the original steps a little first so the concrete holds and does not create a layer effect. extra points, make the steps slightly lower and add half a brick on top to match the driveway?

There was only one pic. Just removed the gate today. There was another small wall that the fence closed on to. I ripped that down after it somehow managed to move while I was parking in the drive and hit the car (twice) I was thinking of just cementing it but it would take the look of the driveway. Would idealy like to get it finished like the rest of the drive

Yeah, knock out what's there, frame up, cement in ensuring there's room to put bricks on top with some bonder or something, fit bricks.

Obviously there's a bit more to it than that :p
