Cow rustling? As a teenager i had a part time job in a greengrocers, was a double shop, other side butchers, poice came in and arrrested one of the butchers for sheep rustling, this is about 25 years ago now.

You can have fillet roasting joint, & cut them in to fillet steaks, several roasting joints can be cut into steaks..

See this link: http://www.macbeths.com/beef-roasting-joints-off-the-bone.aspx

DcD I like to see what I'm buying first, but they do look pretty good, wonder whether they have a retail shop.

I'm actually after a whole fillet joint for beef wellington.

Waitrose price for fillet is around £26 / kg, so it only a few quid cheaper.

Interesting. Why is the price differing so much then. Tesco is still about £35. Would have thought it'd be the other way around.

Edit: Can't find it anywhere on Waitrose.com - can you link?

I just presumed 'fillet steak' would be individual steaks rather than buying a whole fillet. All depends if the guys on the counter let you take the whole thing I guess. I'll pop down tomorrow.
