Filling gap around hearth

We've got a slate hearth and marble fireplace. Where they join there's a wee gap that I'd like to fill with black... something?

Any suggestions on what that something is? Can I just use normal tile grout?

I use CT1 for pretty much anything now, assuming this join doesnt get too warm it will be perfect.

That's kinda my concern. Indirectly I don't think it will get that warm (maybe not even over 30degrees) but if a bit of hot ash fell on it then that would be a different story...

Fire cement? Add black colourant to it.
