First watched the trailer for this a month or so ago, it just got shown again. Definitely a film I want to see when it's released.

Story of a pirate radio station transmitting from a ship in International waters after Rock and Roll was banned in the 60's.

edit: Just discovered this was released in the UK in April under a different name, "The Boat That Rocked". No wonder my search on here failed...doh

Yeah heh, we got it under The Boat that Rocked.

It's a brilliant film in my opinion, although i was surprised to see it got mixed reviews with cons such as "unecessary nudity" and it was "unrealistic".

It's a fictional boat in this film, but these boats did exist so it's a decent enough history lesson if you're interested in that sort of thing. It IS unrealistic, but it's a feel good movie with lots of giggles, a metric arse-tonne of British (and an American!) stars such as Nick Frost, Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans and their ilk, Phillip Seymore Hoffman is good too.

Suprise hit of the year for me... but us Brits always love a good, silly British movie. Patriotically we automatically love any film with more than 2 Brit actors ;)
