The Illusionist - Edward Norton flick ... nuff said... plus MAJOR OMG moment in the movie ;)

it really is a great film

great soundtrack too , not one for the family though

actually by todays standard of films it was quite tame which is good cos if it went overboard i would have hated it. lot of films seem to be crossing the borderline of what is nessecary violence now atleast in my opinion anyway

anyway 2 more films DEFINATELY WORTH WATCHING to add to the list

bourne identity and bourne supremacy, dunno how i forgot them earlier

theyre like james bond but smarter a lot more believable and realistic infact its probably not like james bond at all... :D
 
Because my thread on it went down the pan without so much as one reply (:p), i'll use this thread to pimp Riding Giants. Great movie, and certainly something different.
 
Tommy B has mentioned most of the films i would have reccomended.

The Decsent, Wonderland, Leon, American History X.

Theres loads more but youve probably seen most of these.

Edit im just about to watch Tears of the sun, ill report back tomorrow if its any good.

If you fancy a foreign film for a change, then check out Hero.

Stunning to look at, martial arts fighting like you've never seen before and an engrossing story.

I seem to be alone in preferring House of Flying Daggers, to Hero? Better looking, better story..

Yup. It's not surf porn though. It's a fantastically well-written story of the history of big wave surfing. It's easily the most engrossing documentary i've ever watched. (and there is some surf porn in there too) :p

Ahh yea, I always wanted to watch that one.
Laird Hamilton and Gerry Lopez are absolute legends, and funny too.
Would be a nice edition to my surfing dvd collection me thinks :D
Only prob is, watching big wave surfing makes my nuts jump since any wave over 8ft scares the crap outta me

I guess you've probably seen them already, but I'll recommend the Die Hard trilogy anyway. Most Bruce Willis movies are worth watching, apart from Hostage, which was dire. More recently Sin City and Lucky Number Slevin have been good though.

The Quentin Tarantino movies are also worth seeing at least once - Pulp Fiction, True Romance, Reservoir Dogs etc.
