I watched Irreversible first and really like the film, I liked the way how he explains that "time destroys everything" and by setting the film in reverse order really added to that effect. Even though you were watching nicer content at the end it still kept you uneasy as you already knew what would happen to them in the future.
I have just bought I Stand Alone and this film is easily as impressive, the film gives you different emotions towards the butcher as some times you hate the evil man he is and then later you almost feel sad and sorry for him. I especially liked the gunshots and bangs in between scenes, I found it really kept you on the edge as the gritty story of depression/mental illness was being told.
I was just wondering if anyone had seen any of his other films, I have checked out his film listings on imdb and am unsure if any of his others follow the same intelligent genre of the two listed above. I will defiantly try and pick up Carne as that tells the story of the butcher pre I Stand Alone. I have just been reading a review of his 7minute film Sodomites, seems different to say the least.
