Looking for films like mad max 2 and that post apocalyptic spooky scenery any suggestions?

Waterworld - Similar to the sense that its set in a post apocolyptic style world where the landmass has been lost to the water level rising and forcing everyone to live in the ocean, with an every man for themselves theme, and also trying to find the last remaining pieces of land.
Deadly Reactor - A post apocolyptic world where people are terrorised by gangs of bikers.
The Road - quite a recent film, based on the novel, both very good, but a tad bit depressing!!! really shows what measures man can take to survive.
The Book of Eli - again set in a post apocolyptic world, where a man is carrying one of or the last holy bibles, and people are obviously after him for this.

There are many other post apocolyptic type films out there but some dont fill the brief of being similar to mad max. Obviously there are the other Mad Max films to thing about.

A Boy and His Dog

It is similar to Mad Max / Fallout, its a bit odd in places and the special effects aren't that great. You were able to watch it for free online last I saw but I cant find the site now. It is on Netflix if you have that :)

Hardware is awesome.

Also, Doomsday is heavily based on the Mad Max films (and other influences). There's also Six String Samurai (highly enjoyable for the weirdness factor).

Check out Roadflower with Christopher Lambert for some wheel-based action. There's also Cyborg with Van Damme (that you've probably seen already), Escape From New York/Escape from LA, and from a glance at that list I'd recommend taking a look at Stake Land -- not exactly a post-apocalyptic wheel-based actioner, but it's a darn good flick.

Doomsday.

No, dont watch this, its an hour and a half of your life you will never get back.

If you have an hour and a half to fill and the choice you are given is watching Doomsday, or hammering your testes flat with a lump hammer, well, i'd be on the way to hardware shop now TBQFH.

I never said it was any good ;) just the first thing that came to mind as a mad max type movie :p

Waterworld and The Book of Eli are both rubbish, and as I recall The Postman reviewed terribly, though I've not seen it. The Road is completely uncomparable - utterly different approach to things.

i think waterworld was a kind of fun movie. book of eli was enjoyable

OP: they are making 3 new mad max movies with tom hardy as the mel gibson character! :)

would 12 monkeys count? i love that movie!

you could also look at the Fallout video games
