Films on iphone - how to?

When I try and import films onto itunes to go on my iphone - it doesnt work, is there anything special you have to do?

Mac or PC.

EDIT: You need to put it in the correct format , h.264 at the right size etc... If your Mac I can help if PC you will need to find an application to do it like Quicktime Pro.

Ive found out how to convert on itunes - but it takes ages!!

Not afaik its a slow process what format are your vids in currently?
