Films on TV or Computer monitor for better quality ? (no computer involved)

Curious,

just bought a new computer screen, a 2K, 27" screen

i decided to plug my blu-ray player into it and it did seem better quality at first, but is it ?

I have a Samsung 40" 1080 LED TV (standard 50 HZ) that's 10 years old or so

my Blu Ray player is a Samsung 4K upscaler (but not a 4K player)

my computer screen is an MSI MAG 274QRF-QD (IPS panel) 2K

would the TV be better or the monitor ?

oh i realise that, just wondering if playing a blu ray would look better on one of the screens ?

I'm fully aware of OLED TVs, like the C1 / C2
but i was just curios if my monitor as its new, would be better than my ageing old TV

The 40inch Samsung panels were all S-PVAs so for picture quality they are hard to beat.. Notoriously high contrast ratios for LCDs
