Just a quicky, when/if using a filter for photographing aeroplanes (flying) what one would you use? I have never really invested in filters and wonder what positive effects one can have on this kind of photography.

Thanks

To filter or not to filter...That is the question!

Well, I have a Skylight 1A filter I bought as that filters out UV rays etc and is generally a good filter to pop on the end to protect the lens itself!

There good ones to have for general UV ray stuff and protection!

I've never seen the benefit UV's and the like give photographically. However they're perfect for lens protection, the filters on the lenses I use regularly all have stone chips. I'd have a lot of ruined glass if they hadn't been there.

I keep a UV filter on all my lenses, cuts down the haze, and protects my lens against damage (£12 filter, or £200+ lense? :))

For aircraft, a UV or Skylight filter would be ideal. I use a mix of Hoya and (that well known high street camera retailer) filters on my lenses.
