Last night I opened a very-well-wrapped parcel of photography accessories I received from a retailer in Hong Kong that I've used many times before. Two of the items were:
77mm Canon 500D close-up lens/filter thing
77mm Hoya Super HMC Pro1 UV filter
I opened the first one first, and was rather shocked to note that I could feel the glass moving inside the frame (feels like there's possibly two elements in there, I can't quite tell). Then to me surprise I got the same rattle with the UV filter. I've already got the same model of filter on another lens of mine, but even though it has the same name on the outside (and in fact was bought from the same retailer 1yr ago) the one I received yesterday seems a bit thinner. The older one certainly doesn't rattle though.
Is this something to be concerned about?
