Read about these somewhere (on these forums I think) If I replace the face plate on my main phone line with a filtered splitter will that improve my connection quality as I keep dropping connections sproadically (I'm on MAX)

i know the filtered face plates are installed as part of an "engineer install" ADSL, but this is expensive considering he comes out pretty much only to do that. Not sure if you can get them seperately and fit them yourself? Maybe someone else can advise

You can buy them seperately. I can't link to the site, but a google for 'filtered nte5' should help.

I didn't notice any improvement when I installed one, my SNR and attenuation were exactly the same.

I've seen some around for ~£12 which replace just the lower half of the BT master - so I'm not really doing any wiring, just unplugging the 'old' lower half and then plugging back in the new face plate. Correct ?

Spot on.

Make sure you have a Krone tool to re-attach extension wiring to the back (if you have any).

The XTE-2005 is supposed to be a lot better than the standard Pressac BT one...
