Final AM4 upgrade?

I've got a 3700X on a B550 board and while I don't need to upgrade... I'm considering it anyway before the AM4 CPUs go away.

I know the 5800X3D hasn't been reviewed yet, but I've heard that the 5800X (and the 5900X?) is already a hot chip. I really don't want a loud PC, what sort of cooling is needed to keep noise and temperature down on the high end Ryzens?

Thanks!

That's interesting about the 5800X.

If I'm understanding you correctly the chip runs hot but doesn't put a lot of heat into the cooler?

The reason I ask is the last water cooler I had set the fans to maximum when the liquid hit 40 degrees and it sounded like a jet engine - I want to avoid that this time.

Leaving aside the 5800X3D for now, would the 5900X be a more sensible buy than the 5800X?
