Final Build Advice

Ok guys I've settled on this for my build just looking for advice to check I've picked sensibly and also to see if there is anywhere I could shave off a few quid if I've over done it on PSU or paying more for a very small increase in performance over something cheaper:

Case: Xigmatek Utgard
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core Black 965
Motherboard: Asus M4A87TD/USB3
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 460 1GB OC
RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 CL9
Cooler: Titan Fenir
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
PSU: Antec True Power New 650W
DVD Drive: Samsung SH-S223
 
The F3 have problems with AMD chipsets dont they?

You might have to update the bios before you plug drive on but other than that looks like a nice build.
 
i think its only with 800 chipsets not sure though
i think you can cut down to the be quiet 600w and save some cash and maybe get the fenrir evo for £3 more

The Samsung should be fine, I did a AMD 800 chipset build recent with that drive and it worked without any problems or update needed.

I think you mean some of the Samsung F3 are still being shipped with the old firmware, or have been laying on a shelve for awhile and are just old stock.
 
Is this issue with the F3's just with AMD ? I've seen it mentioned a few times, maybe a reason the F3 1tb is so cheap i imagine!!
 
Well I've just received the first bits for my new build from OCUK, Phenom Black 965 CPU, Titan Fenrir Evo Cooler and the Corsair XMS3 4GB RAM, can't wait to order the rest of it tommorrow!!!!
