That motherboard doesnt have proper 8X/8X support, look at the MSI GD53.

Or the GD65 with free Coolermaster heatsink.

+1 on the above.

The P8P67 range is full of bugs and issues at the moment.

I have an HD6870, and cannot recommend buying one - the performance is by no means shoddy, it still maxes everything, but there are better cards for a similar price, such as the GTX560 Ti.

Thanks, will upgrade the card and the mobo to what stulid recommended.

However, I have gone a little over budget missing out Win7 on the first run through and with a PSU that could easily go a £90 over budget. Anywhere I could cut down? Otherwise I may have to wait for things to go on offer all the time which probably won't happen.

What's you total budget?

Total budget is £850, unless I pay a bit more and get mouse & keyboard for birthday or something but I really want to keep it at £850 if possible. BUT, I would be willing to go £900 if necessary. With taking advantages of offers I suppose I could cut £50 off.

Is that the best possible spec for £850?

If so I will have to start buying soon starting with that card.

How long will this spec last me?

Thanks a lot mate!

Thats the best possible, trust me, its not my first time;)

That spec will last ages (years) even the next Gen of Ivy bridge CPU's will be socket1155 as well so a simple BIOS update will make current boards compatible so says some tech websites.

By all means by the graphics card now, but then try and get the rest of it together so you are not getting stung with shippping.

Is that RAM better than the Kingston RAM?

Will that PSU be good enough for futue use? Some people have said I need an 850w for future upgrading :S

Might stick with the 500GB & Win7 bundle & buy an external hard drive later on like a 1TB one.

I may not have to replace this for a long time if I upgrade appropriately and as you say the next CPU should be okay to change out too :)

Is that RAM better than the Kingston RAM?

Better company, cheaper too.

If for some reason it starts to slow down in a few years time when the next big game comes out that pushes technology, just add a second hand GTX560ti, simples;)

Sweet, if problems did arise I could get a new PSU anyway, couldn't I?

The beauty of PC gaming ha.

Will probably start ordering tomorrow starting with the card.

I showed you in my first reply that 2 560 Ti's only draw a system total of 449W and that's with an old i7 which is a lot more power hungry than the i5-2500K

Yes, but that XFX is a quality unit, it will easily cope with a pair of those cards.

You will have to order the card today or by 08.00hrs tomorrow morning (deals change at 9'ish) or when amount reaches zero.

Of course, short term memory for me :D

That PSU should be absolutely fine even with those two then. Nice.
