I would have gone for the EF 70-200mm f4L. But thats just me! Have you tried out either of these lenses before?

Nope, all I've tried is the 75-300 USM III that a mate lent me.

Yea, so would I if I was made of money! :p

But when I was using this 300mm I was in the 200-300mm range quite a lot and the 300mm on the 70-300 has proven very good from some of G0rds pictures. The IS will also be valuable, I have reasonably steady hands as it is but 3 stops of shutter with it on is very impressive, and the sharpness increases as you stop down anyway :)

Plan is to get a 17-40 L to replace the 18-55 later on tho, but I might get the 17-55 USM IS instead with the IS.

You should be able to get sharp plctures at 1/60th@300mm if you have a steadyish hand. :D

Just randomly but have a look at a 24-70L instead of the 17-40L. I was using my 75-300 today and was really missing the 55-70mm range I havent got covered. Although that does mean you will miss out on the Wide end a little. Having said that I won't be going for either as I don't have the money. :p

Well, then I can get the 10-22 Canon.

10-22, 24-70L and the 70-300 USM IS is my perfect setup.

Depending on funds etc, but I doubt Ill be getting all three this year, especially as a 24 inch TFT is on the cards if I get this job during the summer :p

You are overpaying for non original battery (you can easily pick pack of two on flebay for tenner with delivery and they will be just as good) and ET-65B can be found for around £12. Screen protectors can be had cheaper as well, they will be just as cack as expensive thing.

I think thats the setup i'm going to aim for too, although I may end up getting something longer eventually too. :p

Ok thanks for the ET-65B tip, ordered one already!!

However batteries concern me, I saw two 1200mAh going for £10 inc P&P, but I have no idea if they are decent and won't bugger my camera, I'd rather pay £20 for a good make then £10 and have a broken camera.

Am I worrying about nothing and should I go for 1200mAh or the normal 720s or 800s?

Cheers :)
