already oredered an antec 400w high current gamer PSU.

basket atm:

i3 2100

asus p8h67-m PRO b3 revision

samsung spinpoint f3

casecom ma-1199

and either:

4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V
£36.14

OR

4GB (2x2GB) Corsair DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.50V
£34.79

I know xms3 is good ram, and will be easy to get hold off if I want to upgrade to 8GB, but will the other corsair be just as good? it's normally more expensive, but on offer

also - what will i need to build this? any cables? and is it worth buying some thermal paste or is this provided by intel for their stok cooler? My laptop could do with a bit on it I think if I'm buying some

thanks a lot!

looks fine for a low budget upgrade (which is what i assume this is)

you might be interested in this faster RAM (1600Mhz, not 1333Mhz) for only £37

its a today only deal, so you better hurry if you want it (will probably finish about 8am tomorrow morning)

*edit*
just noticed your other questions
all the cables you need will come with your motherboard and power supply

you wont need any thermal paste, the intel stock cooler will come with some pre applied

i assume you have a DVD drive you can steal from somewhere else (if not, the liteon sata drive is only £15 from here)

The motherboard is only up to 1333mHz, otherwise would get it!

I barely use the dvd drive on my laptop so have bothered with one, theres one in an old pc back home that will do if I cant install windows by usb drive.

It's my first pc, any other advice i'll need? ie. grounding myself when putting it together

to ground yourself just touch something like a radiator.

also, on a similar note, the motherboard will come in anti static packaging. that makes a really useful worksurface ;)

last thing is, the most vulnerable bits to static are the processor and the HDD
