How does this look:

I think that's everything but would appreciate ideas on different components or if something's not quite right. I want to make sure it's future proof so don't have to swap out any major components if there's a big new release in the next year or so.

I've got a case, sound card, keyboard, mouse and OS ready. If it doesn't fit the Lian Li I've got here I'll probably get that white Corsair or something similar. I'm also going to connect it up initially this Apple Cinema Display so hopefully that works well - again, if not then I can come back here.

Thanks.

But haven't they all been fixed with the new firmware.

My SSD is different, but the new firmwar fixed my issues

What if he cant update the firmware? what if he doesnt have access to a PC with a SATA connector? and the Crucial is bigger capacity.

Yes, SLI is a future possibility - may add the slightly higher Lepa.

SSD firmware - what would stop me being able to update the firmware of the OCZ drive out of interest? I'm very capable with hardware, just a bit out of the loop in terms of owning a Windows PC.

If you cant connect the OCZ to another PC (using a laptop?) if you try to install windows then update the firmware you can lose the data, so will have to start again.

Just curious, how do you intend to split what is stored on the SSD and the HDD.
Currently, was thinking either a 30GB- 60GB to use as a cache - Intel's Smart Tech.
or a 200GB-250GB to hold OS, drivers and all programs on SSD and use HDD for Data and Video files.

How have others split their storage requirements and what space did you require on the SSD?

I was just going to have Windows 7 and possibly BF3 on the SSD, the larger HDD for storage. I don't think i'll be putting much else on the SSD to be honest...but in future, if I head back to PC and get rid of the Apple hardware I have I can sort that issue out then.

Just install OS on SSD and some basic stuff. then change the save location to your HDD for storage purposes.

I have a fast SSD 120GB for OS and basic programmes. Then a 240GB slower SSD for games. then a 1TB HDD for backups
