I am really sorry I created another smiler thread, but I just want a final confirmation before ordering my parts tonight:

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.40GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77-DS3H Motherboard

Corsair CML8GX3M2A1600C9 LP Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Memory Module Kit

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

Seagate ST31000524AS 3.5 inch Barracuda 1TB GB 7200rpm SATA Drive with 32MB Buffer

OCZ VTX4-25SAT3-64Gb Vertex 4 SATA III-6Gb/s 2.5 inch Internal SSD

Can you please let me know what's the best option for the storage, I was going to get Samsung Pro 840, but firstly it's very costly and also 256 won't be enough, so I thought I can get 64 just for Windows and software. While games I will install them on the normal HDD. Is the Seagate a good option?

Thanks all

lol now I am confused :(

So def buying the:

Intel 3rd Generation Core i5-3570K CPU (4 x 3.40GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 6Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

changed the mobo to:

Gigabyte Ultra Durable Motherboard LGA 155 Z77-D3H

Memory:

Patriot 8GB (2x 4GB) 1600MHz Dual Channel DDR3 Viper 3 Black Mamba Memory Kit

I am still confused about the GPU and the storage.

So guys is the 7850 def better than the 660. My monitor is 1680x1050.

Regarding the SSD, do you think it is important? Shall I just get a standard 1TB HDD? I mean since my games will be on standard HHD, surely the SSD will be irrelevant

i would put the os and games and programs on the ssd! you really want the os and games on it as the load times are much faster!
a 256gb ssd should be fine

What is your overall budget ?

Just added your initial spec at the top to the basket and it comes to £631.28. For the same price you could get this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Sapphire HD 7870 XT rev2.0 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £179.99
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x Plextor M5 Pro 128GB Extreme Series Solid State Drive - (PX-128M5P) £99.95
1 x Asus P8Z77-V LX2 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £67.99
1 x Toshiba (7K1000.D) 1TB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA100) HDD £53.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £49.99
Total : £631.30 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Obviously if your budget is £550 max then it's irrelevant :D

are you blind? look at the size of the heatsink on them compared to the kingston i linked

No I am not. Although slightly taller than the Kingston ram, they will fit under most aircoolers without any problems. :p

I am gonna allow the SSD for now, do you recommend this as my main HDD?

WD Caviar Green 1TB SATA III 6GB/s Internal Hard Drive 3.5 inch

The Toshiba above is cheaper and has the same 2 year warranty. If you want the WD HDD then the 2TB version is only £5 more.
