hi, i need to confirm my final decision.

i have £130 max to spend on a monitor
i currently run a cruddy old 17" tft at 1280x1024 but it flickers and wont go over 60 htz and my TV interfeers with it
i use my monitor for desktop apps, office apps work for uni, coding, gaming and watchin DVDs and films (My TV is only a piddly 14")

ive 99% decided on a 19" widescreen Hanns-G. its got good reviews, DVI, and is cheaptasitc at only £111 at... uh... somewhere :)

so, do i go for this? the only other option id realy go for is a 17" or 19" 4:3 monitor, but i realy fancy widescreen (i like sidebars (not vista) and watchin widescreen film). will i loose or gain screen real estate on a 19" WS at 1440x900 over my current CRT or a new tft at 1280x1024? ive been down town and Currys have a 19" WS next to a 17" 4:3. the 17" is slightly taller but the 19" is obviously wider, but thats a tft, my CRT is prob nearer 16" visible than 17".

no, i dont have any extra cash, so no "spend £30 more and get a 20"" comments please. there is a strong possibility that i will dual screen later on with 2 of whatever i get.

so, do i get the 19" Hanns-g when i get paid on Wednesday?

Cheers

yeah I'd say the Hanns G was a good choice in your situation. WS format will be nice for movies, and it's a well priced screen. Good buy
