final fantasy 13 =0

FFXIII is complete tosh - i stopped playing it before the end of disc 2.

FFVII is still one of the greatest games ever in my opinion and they've progressively got worse (with the exception of 8 and 9, to an extent). Don't buy it. Ever.

FF13 is a great game, and the story line is a good one. I wouldnt say its as good as the other final fantasy games. BUT, Its definately one of the better JRPGs out there.

And its a **** load better than FFX-2, not even in the same league. FF13 is closer to FF10 in the way it plays out.

What aspects of this game are "great"? The storyline is acceptable at best, and wholly predictable. The battle system isn't too bad, if you don't mind ATB and dislike thinking....ever - just pressing 'auto' all the time. But all that aside, the game holds your hand all the way through and requires naff all thinking. I definitely would not put it in a league different to FFX-2 without evidence as to why it belongs in a different league.

RPG's simply aren't what they used to be....Lost Oddyssey and Eternal Sonata anyone? No? Thought so ;)

Well, Im not going to start arguing with what is obviously your view on the game. As you're completely entitled to it. :p

But I stand by what I've just said

What a load of crap.....
If i spiked the pubes on my balls painted a face on each one and started doing a meat spin we would have a more unpredictable and exciting RPG going on!

FFXIII from the start was basic, it held your hand as previously stated. It had potential and the story line also had potential....but this was short lived...
The story did not improve it was linear, the characters did not really grow and the game held your hand all the way.....the use of the 'Auto' ruined what could have been a great battle system and the fact the only way to ever go on this game was STRAIGHT FORWARD IN AN ALREADY LAID OUT ROUTE ruined everything about it.
FFXIII has been the biggest let down i encountered, even more so than the night i was drunk and my takeaway had run out of kebabs........:o

Regardless of how cheap the game is it is not worth the buy, instead get onto the PSN and buy FF7 and FF8 both equally amazing games with get this....FREE WILL AND CHOICE.....

I don't want to start an argument, just interested in what good points people think it has is all. I used to love RPG's and now i just can't find one that holds my interest - old skool zelda, and FFIV, V, VI, VII and PSO etc etc.

Like someone else said, all the new bloods at SquareEnix just don't compare to their predecessors. All a matter of opinion of course, though i why like to know 'why' people think it's a decent game.

Well I just stand by the fact its one of the better JRPGs on 360\PS3. Out of all the similar styled games that have been released on PS3 and 360, I cant think of another thats given me the same enjoyment. And I've played pretty much all of them. LAst Remnant was another favourite of mine, but only on PC. 360 version was Gimped and just broken.

The reason for my comparison to FF10 should be understandable though, The Zanarkand at the beginning, Calm lands, Cloister Trials. They were all extremely similar and just as linear.

So yeah, I dont think its as bad as is being said. Its worth buying. But it doesnt have much replay value unfortunately. Its a 1 playthrough game.

To an extent, i agree with this. But FFX was nowhere near as linear (left or right, left or right...ok lets go right. Oh wait there's a chest here, looks like i should've gone left....) and because it was actually interesting, entertaining game, it wasn't a problem at all. Then it opened up completely anyway. FFXIII tried to open completely then failed - like a 2 opening a bag of crisps.

It also is probably one of the better RPG's on the 360/PS3 but the competition is hardly anything to consider tbh. Other than maybe Mass Effect.

To Quote its barley a 1 play through game. In fact if you can get it cheap do so as the multiple useless discs will make snazzy coasters!

And yea it may be one of the better ones on the X360 or PS3 but thats nothing to really brag about due to the sheer lack of good RPG's as Toukon stated try mass effect....it gives you freedom of choice.
Games that take away a users right to choose where to go, to get lost or to do anything wrong should not be allowed. I would rather be lost on the world map for 5 hours (gaining some nice XP's while doing so) than walking the same damn singular route, the same is basically just a channel tunnel decorated different all the way down..it offers no twists or turns or surprises and it all leads to the same end.
The only thing that really was good about the game was the character designs, even though they did not grow as characters they were entertaining and the other thing as with all FF games was the fact it was aesthetically pleasing.

If i was to rate the game (bare in mind im a huge FF and RPG fan) i wouldn't go about 2.5 out of 10
