Anyone else playing this? I got this last week and knocked up about 5 hours so far and it's been pretty good and feels very much like Final Fantasy 7. I do have a question thou, I thought this was a remake of Final Fantasy 6 on the SNES (which was FF3 in the US), I've played that and I didn't remember having jobs....is it really the same game?

No it's not the same game. This is the real FF3. Not FF6. Only the original US SNES release of FF6 was called FF3. All other releases have the correct numbers.

And all the FFs are good :p

I got it last week also but having never played a Final Fantasy game before I'm really struggling. Can anyone give me some tips on how best to play the game? I'm only upto the bit where you enter the cave in the north after just leaving the castle.

Cheers.

Had this a few weeks now and its managing to keep my attention much better on the train than most of the other DS games I own.

What jobs are people's favourite or offer the best balance ?

Is there any point for the white mage when you can just use potions?

Potions don't compare to the stronger cure magic. Having a white mage is pretty important.

I am just starting out and it's hard work training up the stats and getting some money for all mythrill armour and weapons. I realise later in the game if I have 2 strong physical, 1 offensive magic and one defensive magic character is the best balance. So far if I have just 2 and a half decent offensive characters the fights gets quite hard as my magic points are so low (zeros more like).

im really enjoying this ive racked up about 14 hours now my 4 characters:

Dark knight: hes got a blood sword so when he hits he heals himself, since hes had that weapon he just cant die :)

Black Mage: Just bought blizzaga firaga and thundaga

White mage: Just bought curaga, haste and protect

Thief: hitting at 2000 damage at the moment :)

How do you get more jobs ? I want to build up my levels before moving onto the next stage of the story. Does jobs opens up when you reach a certain level or does it come with the story?

You get more as the story progresses.

We should swap wifi codes, apparently the Onion Knight (yup, Onion Knight) can only be accessed later in the game after some letters are sent through the Mogu thingy.
