Couple of us were reminiscing over the weekend about FF7 and how good it was for its age.

But 1 thing has got us all stuck, what was the summons called that went flying past all the planets, it went on for like 2 minutes.

Not knights of the round or Bahamut ZERO...............someone on here i bet knows :)

are you thinking of the the video scene where budghaden or whatever his name is gives you a tour of the planets in redxiii's home town?

nah, he means the sephiroth summon.

That tour of the planets was awesome though, loved the music to that and it was slightly moving too how he said it was destroying the planet. Bit like we are now.

FF7 was truly an emotional game. Nothing quite like it.

It really depends. Personally I loved FF9, FF8 seems to be marmite, you either love it or hate it.
Thing is, the plot is generally the same. Big evil threatens the world, and a group of people consisting of:
Good looking hero who uses a sword/dagger, cute love interest who is a white mage, comedy sidekick(s), emo guy (sometimes also the hero), mysterious black mage and a racial stereotype.

They all then go and save the world, learn about friendship, and the emo guy becomes friends with everyone, and maybe even smiles by the end of it.

If you can find the games cheap, then go for it. I wasn't so keen on some of the older games, though I found FFV and X-2 had the best job class systems, then XII was pretty good, if illogical. Different people like different ones, really.

Personally, I'm one of those who just doesn't get the FF7 hype. Then again, my first FF game was 9, and that's my favourite, so its probably nostalgia :D

Can the version of FF7/ FF8 downloaded from the PSN store be used with a PS1 emulator?

I have no desire to buy a PSP (ever), or a PS3 (yet).

Seems there's no legal way to get hold of FF7 and FF8 atm then, if you don't have a PSP or a PS3.

/hunts for his eyepatch

Just buy the discs from ebay. I still have original discs for the psx versions of FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII.

They're expensive on eBay. Like, silly money.

I'm considering just buying em on PSN, then going to Arrr-ate Bay and getting them there.
