Final Fantasy VII

Meh, I preordered Crisis Core ages ago, but my card was declined for some unknown reason (happened before a few times), so I'm going to head into town either later or tomorrow and see if I can pick up a copy, no doubt at an inflated price.
 
12's battle system for me was a step in the right direction, a lot of people dislike it though.

The story is fine, BUT the character depth is somewhat lacking.

Overall it's great, I'd say it was better than Final Fantasy 9.

7>10>8>12>9 for me you see
 
If FFVII is remade for the PS3 then I will definitely have to buy one - I've been holding off on getting one, but with MGS4 coming out, and FFXIII in the pipeworks it's getting harder to resist (hopefully FFIV on the DS will tide me over).

You can convert the discs to EBOOT files that can be played on a PSP Memorystick with Custom Firmware, it is not possible on a standard PSP.

Looks like I am a bit different as I liked X-2 and XII's battle system

Both battle systems were definitely improvements over their predecessors. Problem is one of if not the main enjoyment i get from final fantasy games are the characters and story which were severely lacking in both of those imo. I suppose X-2 had a story, i just hated it.

Yeah, the story in XII is a bit lacking, mostly due to the fact that there was no single really evil person like Sephiroth.

I think the story in XII is fine, the problem with it was lack of good characters, or characters that anyone gives a crap about.

The only one who stood out was Balthier (And I quite liked Frans ;))

Did anyone really care about the supposed main character Vaan? I know I didn't.
 
Best game ever made to me. A remake on the PS3 would make my life complete! Finished the original so many times, I think my best completion time was around 12-14 hours! As for the voice acting Steve Burton would do again for Cloud I spose!

The battle system in x-2 was dire with those stupid dress spheres.Underneath though there was quite a good game.
 
ergh, i hated how the battle system in 12 worked. it was my least favorite game because of the battle system. if they kept the system like 7, even with materia I'd still play it and prefer it over 12. maybe im too old fashioned!
