VII must be awful as well then as I love that game. But hey, if I have a bad taste in games then I must be wrong in liking that as well.

In fact, VI, VIII, IX, X must all be terrible as well, oh and all the Zelda games... and Chrono Trigger... and Secret of Mana... and Lost Odyssey... and...

Oh wait. No. It's more likely you just don't like XIII and just enjoy hating on people that actually enjoyed it. :rolleyes:

I miss the Squaresoft days =( Final Fantasy was far better until Square Enix.

That's the problem though, I don't want to trudge through 10-20 hours of crap with the hope of the game getting better. I haven't actually played a main series final fantasy since IX and have had no real desire to change this. I'll probably get X HD although I've seen a lot of game play of that since its release and it never really interested me.

X has good gameplay, but a pretty pants storyline, and Tidus is seriously annoying.

Wasn't a big fan of all the characters in X... X-2 annoyed me soo much. Too cheesy so from its release up until now I still have not finished it.

It may have been cheesy, but personally in terms of the battle mechanics, it was one of my favourites because it was like a combination and refinement of previous systems. Fast paced ATB mixed with a Job System. I mean it was practically a prototype for what XIII/XIII-2 will be.

And then it sounds like Lighting Returns is all that, mixed in with real-time elements ala FFXII.
