Hi

I have checked the ocuk custom loop parts and decided to order today but got a couple of final questions before I click buy. In the top of my case I can fit a slim 240 rad with 4x120 fans push/pull as my h100 is currently or fit a double thick rad with only two fans. Which would be better? performance wise. Im trying to avoid replacing my case. Also if went with the slim rad to equal performance of a thick rad would it benefit to add a 120mm rad also as a second pass sort of idea. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance. looking to purchase everything today

If it is a choice between a slim rad in push/pull and a thick rad in push, I would choose the thick rad. Whether you need an extra 120 depends on what you are cooling.

Thanks. I am just planning on the cpu at the minute with adding to it as get more experience. if I went with the stealth style 240 would an extra 120 at the rear balance out a thicker one?

single 120 ml really does not help that much, you'll be lucky to just get a few C's knocked off. All so as you have already been advised a thick 240ml is much better than a thinner 240ml as push pull doesn't make to much of a difference over the long run were as a thicker rad will.

Thanks, this is why asking the questions. Looks like will have to change my case then. For a thick rad with even two fans, just measured up and unless can find high performing thin fans a thick rad won fit. The h100 with 4x120 measures 75mm and a thick rad and one set of fans measures 83mm I make it and it wont clear my atx plug. That's why was thinking stealth 240mm rad and extra 120mm to avoid changing my case.

I have the inwin dragon rider white tower. I can fit a 240mm in the roof just not a thick one. It has 75mm clearance to the atx plug on the mobo. H100 push/pull just fits by 1mm. only way for me to do push pull for a loop in roof would be with a stealth 240 without changing my case

A slim rad would be ok if it was just a CPU loop. If you have any intention of expanding the loop later, you will almost certainly find you will need a bigger case anyway, so at that point your second rad would have to be a 120.3 or something, preferably a thick one. So at that point you would have a 120.3 thick and a 120.2 thin to mount in your case, which would probably be OK cooling capacity wise. Would ahve to be a case that could fit both though. If on the other hand you don't mind mounting rads externally then you get get whatever you want now and stay with the same case.

Great thanks. Think all this advice has convinced me to buy the switch 810 then no problems with future expansion. Thanks for everyones advice. Will fit a xspc rx 360 then
