EVGA GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) (£138.64 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Total = £721 (Including VAT at 17.5%)

Plan is:

Within 90 days STEP UP -
EVGA GeForce 7900 GS 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI
to
EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTX w/ ACS3

Questions:
Will this spec allow me to play battlefield 2142 at 1680*1050 in the meanwhile before i STEP UP to the 8800gtx?
Everything should be ok with simply replacing the old graphics card with new? ie. no power/compatibility issues

Many Thanks

I would go for the E6600 instead of the E6300.

But why are you spending money on a 7900 then spending even more more on a 8800??

I Guess you are not aware of the benefits of using the EVGA step up scheme - if i buy a certain graphics card, i can upgrade it to one that is better (by just paying the difference in price between the 2 cards) within the first 90 days of purchase, this is perfect for me since i dont have the money to buy a 8800gtx straight away but i need something to tide me over until i have the $, and my money isnt wasted. Besides anandtech recently did a roundup of 8800 gpus with the new EVGA 8800 coming TOP. Within this 90 days this card should be out and will also have dropped in price :p
