Following on from my previous spec thread, I am now in a position to place my order next week.

Intel Core i5-4570S 2.90GHz Low Power (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail - £143.99

Subtotal - £376.94 (for some reason, the OcUK checkout is saying £376.93)

I'm wonder if I should swap the 4570S for a 4570, but I keep worrying about the power usage as the machine will be on 24/7. I also wonder if the motherboard will be adeqaute, as I will need 5x SATA ports (SSD, HDD, blu-ray, dvd and external SATA bay).

I only added it as I ran out of thermal compound and I'm in need of some more.

I'd choose a Gigabyte motherboard simply for their UK RMA - Asus have an atrocious record with customer service.

Not strictly any need for Z97 as you won't be overclocking, but the price makes this a bit of a bargain really.
