I've been prowling these forums for the past couple of weeks now trying to get a few ideas for a system I'm should be building in the middle of August and I've finally come to my conclusion and here it is:

So what do you think? The system will be primarily for gaming but I'm also going to be using it for my bedroom tv as I shall stick in my existing tv tuner card.
Any suggestions to make it better a very welcome lol.
Also this will be my first ever build so any terms about overclocking and other stuff I might not get lol but I do certainly to plan to overclock.

EDIT: How can I upload a shot of my cart? Sorry lol

EDITEDIT: here's the link

All comes to a grand total of £1588.25.

For that price, should consider going i7. If you think you won't need it, then drop the mobo to a cheaper one (still with 790 chipset, about £110).

Rest looks pretty good, but get 2x 640gh hdd instead of 500gb, they are slightly faster I believe.

As you plan on gaming and overclocking - an i7 920 with a nice overclock will beat a 955 any day. The 955 doesn't overclock as high, have hyperthreading, triple channel memory or a fast clock-for-clock compared to the i7 920.

Here is my spec based on the i7 920, a great gigabyte motherboard, the best cooler and fan combo available (as you had earlier) and a different mouse (more comfortable imho):

I used the XFX 4890s instead of the ASUS ones here as they are a bit cheaper. If you wish to do a safe overclock on your graphics (covered by warranty) then please change out the XFX for the ASUS ones.

Edit: I assumed you have a pretty nice, high resloution monitor with that spec. What is the monitor you plan to use with it? If its anything less than a 22in 1680x1050 monitor you should seriously considering switching some of the budget towards a new screen (going for just one 4890 would do the job).
