Here is what i have finalized and will be ordering it all tomorrow.

Already have

Antec P180 b case
Widows vista home premium 64 Bit
OCZ gameXstream PSU
2 x 1GB OCZ DRRII 6400 ram

here are the other components to finish of my first pc build

Any improvements? (Budget limit)

Thanks again for everyones input

If you could go another 30 quid I'd opt for the 1GB 4870 as it will last you a bit longer. plus you get a free game!

i can buy the game for £6 so its not really an incentive + only got a 19" will upgrade in soonish future but if needs be i could just crossfire. Dont think £30 justifies for another 512MB.

Any improvements you would suggest?

Its £30. I was set on a 4850 but for £20 i could get a 4870 so i chose that. If i need too upgrade so i can play higher res i can always go xfire and by the time i get a new Screen they will be a lot cheaper. I cant afford an extra £30

Would this be a better path to go down?

what a **** ache thought i had spec finalized then new AMD processors come out :(.

Could you spec me a motherboard that is a good overclocker and drr II you think AM3 DRRII motherboards will be produced?

Ideally I would go with the recently released Asus M4A79 Deluxe motherboard which I thought was AM3 & DDR2 but it seems to be listed as AM2+

Asus list it as AM3 :)

Anyway for some odd reason OCUK are not stocking it yet but if you look around others are...

Going on price the Asus M3A78-T AMD 790GX would be comparable to the Biostar...

As a rule of thumb the SB750 based boards tend to be good overclockers.
