Looks good apart from the ram, i would drop the 620w psu and get the 520w version instead then use the money to buy some pc6400 ram instead of the pc5300!! ;)

Agreed, though he is spending over 200 on that ram anyway :/

What Ram would you suggest, i was going to buy the Corsair 6400 2GB XMS2 but then everyone started saying they used Promo ICs.

So what Ram would you suggest?. Thanks Guys

Nice system, I'm in the throws of putting together a spec for my upgrade to a multi-core system myself.

I currently have a pair of 80GB WD Raptors in a RAID 0 setup for my OS and programs, then a pair of cheap 200GB drives in RAID 1 for my data.

The difference in speed at which Windows and programs load is very noticeable going from a standard 7200 RPM drive to my RAID setup - definitely something to consider if your budget allows.

Hey Dave whats the noise level like on them Raptors?

No different from any other hard drive I've used in the past. I do have quite a big heavy case though, which sits right under the desk. For the type of system you're building, I'd think the PSU, CPU, and graphics fans would be more of an issue than hard drive noise.

Well changed some things in my first post, Ram and Hard Drive.

The Geli Ram not a particular favorite of mine since i have had trouble with it a few times.

What does everyone think of the Cell Shock Ram? Any good

Im going to keep the PSU as it is so it keeps for a good few years.

You can get a pair of 80GB raptors for a lot less than that. Then get a cheap drive for data. An 80GB 7200RPM drive will set you back less than £30 to make up the capacity. That would probably be slightly cheaper and give you a significant performance increase.

Thats a very nice spec for the price, DX10 card aswelll. I only spec'd that PC8500 ram becuase its what i would get if your not a overclocker then get this ram... Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB) same stuff as i got and its very good even for overclocking. If your a extreme overclocker and want to hit ridiculous speeds then PC8500 is what you want. even with PC6400 you can hit 3Ghz+ on that E6600 which i hope you will be overclocking. Armours are very nice cases i got the black one my self. Also same PSU as me will handle anything you throw at it. The motherboard is nice aswell.. supports SLI. Raptor for the OS/games ect and 250GB for storage if you need. Tuniq for silence and temps :).

Hope you go for that system if you aint overclocking then get the ram i said (corsair) :) will handle overclocking aswell :D.

Hey 1337z0r is dosent matter if that Ram is the Promo ICs does it if your not overclocking?

But if you are it makes a slight difference right?
