Looking for final spec build, as I hope to order today.

Spec for gaming, budget absolute max £1000 (thanks to an unexpected bonus from work).

Need everything except keyboard and mouse.

Can anyone spec me the best my money can buy. Would like SSD in there.

I think this is pretty good, leaves you a bit of room to customise. The AMD board I think would be good cause you can get Bulldozer when they eventually emerge, but I think the poster before me has the better build here, just one possible build that i've posted.

that was like, exactly the same build i did first time :D apart from i put a vertex 3 in i think.

that is what i would do with my money, thing is OP said no change to budget so i changed it up.

The motherboard above does SLI/Crossfire at 8X/8X, so thats a good thing if you ever want to run dual graphic cards, it also features a item called OCgenie which is a simple way of overclocking the CPU to 4.2ghz with the press of one button.

Included an excellent quality heatsink to keep the CPU cool while doing this too.

The case is also excellent and has room to spare.

This motherboard above also features SLI/crossfire at 8X/8X but being a Z68 chipset it has extra features such as SSD caching/Lucid Virtu and Quicksync.

Is a 560Ti 1gb better value than a 6950 2gb?

I could probably free up dome more budget by reducing the size of the monitor too, if that would allow it to be spent elsewhere ?

Well the Gigabyte GTX560ti is overclocked so far I would imagine it is very close.


I also done a spec that includes the GTX570.

Think I would go for the Psu and motherboard that allows SLI in the future if I ever decided to. Otherwise I'd need to upgrade PSU and motherboard if I upgraded.

So I think Stulids build with the 560ti or I swap that for a 570 and reduce the monitor cost?
