I`m quite green but has been reading the oc.uk forums like mad recently and this is what I come up with.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-152-AM) : £169.95
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940) (FG-000-AR) : £12.95

//*Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-088-AS) : £59.95 *//

Or

//*MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-046-MS) : £64.95 *//

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3 (GE2GB3200BDC) (MY-046-GL) : £89.95
Western Digital Caviar Special Edition 160GB 1600JS SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-047-WD) : £44.95
NEC ND4551 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer LabelFlash ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-026-NE) : £25.95
Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU (CA-040-AN) : £59.95
OcUK GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-037-OK) : £199.95

also I bought a x-fi, and am planning to buy a Beyerdynamic DT770 to go with it. if one component need to be changed I may go with a cheaper headphone instead..Thanks!

Cheers mate. Is the 450W Smart Power PSU that comes with the Sonata powerful enough? Also, should I be thinking about getting a Zalman to replace the standard Vga cooler that comes with the 7900 (I may be overclocking in the distant future)?

It should be ok but you might want to go with something more powerful later on, especially when overclocking. You could get a zalman vga fan when you get a better PSU, the stock one should be fine.
