Final thoughs before i order

Hey guys just wanted your thoughts before i go and order.

I am going to order this card:

Was nearly set on buying the MSI 1G Cyclone but then seen the card above and think im set on buying it instead. Is the card above worth the extra money or are then much the same?

Also will be buying this Corsair 600W to Power it.

What are your thoughts??

Seems ok, the GTX460 is £10+ more than other 1GB models, is it worth the difference?

I see no reason not to. For that price it'll be hard to do better.

Is it true that there is a fault with the 5870 that makes games crash??

Read it in a couple of reviews of the card.

Not when i owned one?,i would get a 5870 for £180 over the 460

lol no. i believe the problem you mention was in 2009 and under win 64 and was fixed within a week and had nothing to do with games but how the drivers didnt like win 64.

nows not the time to be an nvidia fanboy - your only screwing yourself over as the 5870 is a big difference compared to the 460.

MSI 5850 Twin FrozR II for the same price:

And unlike most 5850 that are now non-reference with no voltage tweaking support, the MSI 5850 Twin FrozR II support voltage tweak for higher overclocking.

I would avoid VTX/Powercolour's card (the 5870) as their RMA quality is pretty crap from what I read...and I believe those 5870 are non-reference cards that don't support voltage tweak as well.

Yea that was the problem haha Was looking through reviews and people were saying that.

Would my power supply still be ok for that card??

Yeah I heard about the driver problems too, that had me worried.
Apparently the new BIOS do effect how the card runs though, but for that price, maybe that isn't such a big deal?

If the extra £20 isn't a burn for you, then certainly, it might be worth it.
VFX or XFX?

Fairly limited without voltage tweak. Shame that there's no MSI or Asus 5870 for around the £180 price range.

I know its sacrilege but a 5870 not overclocked is still a great card, im sure using ccc/afterburner you will be able to get a ok overclock even without voltage adjustment.

Looks like a good card, although if you shop around you can get this (Gigabyte GTX 460 1gb) for £153.99 which seems like a steal to me!

Cant seem it find a 5870 around £180 except the VTX one and have heard bad reviews about it

So back to square one lol.
